Who are you?

Hello, I'm Jess, or Japes, and I run Japes’ Place, where we can talk anything from gender equality in the workplace, IVF, and wedding drama, to the top ranked boyfriends on The Nanny, how finding a good hairdresser is harder than finding a good boyfriend, and why daytime naps need to become more widely accepted in countries that aren’t Spain.

Basically, this Substack is to share thoughts on the convos you’re already having - or gives you good chat for the next brunch or water cooler sesh. The best part is, you don’t have to go searching - subscribe and it’s all sent right to you, because we’re all about working smarter, not harder.

Aside from sharing unsolicited and perhaps unwanted views, I enjoy never missing an episode of Judge Judy, pasta, bright colours, going to the actual movies IRL, things I think are meant for toddlers like Disney movies, chicken nuggets and sparkly footwear, talking about weddings (yours, mine, people we don’t know), making plans and then being too tired for them, and juice. Specifically orange WITH pulp.
